I often think the labeling of basket ware is something our basket making associations should pursue because it would help the customer distinguish the imported from the indigenous and enable them to make informed purchasing choices. <br />At the moment it isn't necessary for any basket ware to say either where it has been made or what fungicides/pesticides have been sprayed onto them to enable them to travel in closed containers. Many of these sprayed baskets are then unknowingly bought and used as baskets for bread or fruit!
